The Story

ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Lee Alison, a Malaysian Youth Volunteer with AIESEC at University Putra Malaysia. I joined the 'Clean Our Plate' project aiming to take proactive steps in life to combat extreme food waste and embracing sustainable consumption starting from home. I envision a better recovery of depletion of hunger within homeless communities and a more harmonious relationship with the environment

WHATS THE ISSUE?

Homelessness is a pervasive global issue that affects millions of people across the world including Malaysia. Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic(s) strikes, things have been aggravated as we could see a drastic increase in homeless people in the world. Not only does it robs individuals of their basic human rights but also poses significant challenges for societies and high food insecurity.

As there is limited access to clean food as well as having shortage of money it hinders the homeless individual’s ability to get regular meals and the desperation when meeting unmet needs of food. They would start scavenging through discarded wastes, food that are thrown away. Which could potentially plague their lives due to potential hazards and health risks . By addressing these issues collectively, we can take significant steps towards alleviating homelessness and creating a more inclusive and compassionate society for homeless communities

WHAT WILL THE MONEY BE USED FOR?

The funds raised will be donated to our partnership with TASK ( The Assembly Soup Kitchen) , TASK will be utilised the funds to produce wide variety of nutritious meals and carefully selected to cater diverse dietary needs for the homeless, ensuring they are provided with a balanced and healthy diet.

By contributing through donating with just RM10, a person gets to receive a well prepared meal. With more donors, we are able to create a profound and lasting positive impact through wards the unfortunates and this symbolises compassion and hope for the homeless individuals.
