The Story

Eddison:

Hi there! My name is Eddison Chai and I'm currently a second year medical student. My love for children and youth has brought me here as a virtual volunteer for the Light Your Future Eureka (LYFE) Project by AIESEC at Heriott-Watt University Malaysia.

LYFE Project aims to provide Malaysian youth with career awareness through cultivating necessary soft skills knowledge and leadership development, specifically for underpriviledged children and teenagers. Personally, I have always believed in the power of passion which burns in every single one of us to keep our will alive. Like flames, passion needs to be kindled by a spark before it can burn and this spark is what we call inspiration. In reality, many children from less fortunate backgrounds lack this spark, and they need it to find meaning for their future. For without inspiration, one can only wander aimlessly in life and rest at his or her final days still wondering if their existence meant anything. Surely we do not want our youth to end up that way and today, you can make a difference by donating and supporting this campaign.

Benefactions from you, no matter big or small in value, can help the NGOs involved to bring in new materials and resources for children in need. This in turn, provides them a chance to further explore and understand what they aspire to be. When they do, you can proudly tell yourself that you are a starter of dreams; a spark that ignites the flames of passion. And all of that begins with our power to give today.

Hanif:

Hello! My name is Hanif, currently a 1st year chemical engineering student in Herriot-Watt Malaysia. My curiosity for new experiences and tendency to wish to grab hold of any opportunities has found me helping as a virtual volunteer for children and youths through this Light Your Future-Eureka (LYFE) project by AIESEC

It's almost impossible to not take things for granted but it's always humbling when you take your time and interact with people who manage to find happiness even with less access to the things that you do. Even if they have more materialistic problems than you do. When I see that kind of thing I wish to contribute to their efforts and make things easier for them even if only a little bit.

Helping a cause isn’t something I find myself driven to do often, but its one of those activities where you can find pride in doing so. I see this fundraising as an opportunity both for the kids as well as myself.
An opportunity for me to learn and do something meaningful for others, and an opportunity for kids to be able to cultivate necessary life skills as well as leadership development so that more careers and opportunity will be accessible for them in their future. SO if you wish to take this opportunity, every single support no matter the magnitude will highly support these kids in the long run and for more kids to come.

Vaytha:

Hello everyone! My name is Vaytha, currently pursuing my third year of MEng degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. Since young, I have the profound passion of serving those in need which has drove me to become a virtual volunteer of Light Your Future Eureka (LYFE) project organized by the AIESEC community of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

The LYFE project has the main objective to enhance quality education among the children at the orphanages and most prominently by creating the career awareness by fostering their knowledge of soft skills and showcasing the importance of boosting leadership skills among the underprivileged teenagers/children. As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” In accordance with that, I believe that learning is a never-ending process, that every human regardless of their background will keep on learning till the end of life. Adding to that, this fundraising campaign has given me the opportunity to be a little of benefit to the children and as well as to me to discover my true purpose of gaining my self- satisfaction by contributing to their welfare and education.
With that, we are a team of three collaborating with the AIESEC committee members are in the quest of providing a betterment typically in terms of the of the educational needs of the underprivileged children. So, you can make a difference by lighting up a spark in their lives by giving them your donations as an adequate support & a motivational start for them to achieve their dreams and ambitions. Your largesse no matter big or small in amount are all counted as the pillars of support and strength to the kids to shape their future to a better one. Remember, the greatest form of donation is education!
