Food Waste: A Bigger Problem Than You Think

The Story

Hi, I am Amelia from AIESEC in Johor Bahru, currently I'm a first year student in UTM. Food Waste is a horrendous problem in this country that no one seems to want to talk about. Thus, I am here to make a change for the world through small gestures and build a more educated community regarding food waste.

Do you know? The total amount of food waste can certainly fill up 16 of the Twin Towers in year 2020. And here's a fun fact: Malaysians waste approximately 16,688 tonnes of food per day which that amount could be fed around 2.2 millions people for 3 times a day!

I believe that in order to solve this issue, people should aware of how serious the food waste issue is and it's time for us to tackle towards this issue.

Understand it, and start to change it! A simple action and effort will bring a major change to the world.
