The Story

UPDATE (27.8.2020): FUNDRAISER COMPLETE! 
3 weeks later, we've hit our goal! While the goal has been reached, this page will stay open until end of September, so donations are still welcomed. To all donors & those who have shown support, thank you for feeding 30 families with me- & to those who still want to give, thank you for adding another family, & another family, & another family...

UPDATE (6.8.2020): FINAL INCREASE TO RM3000
The deal was that if we got to RM2k by midnight, the goal would go up. The other deal was that we would close at RM3k. Tonight, 2 hours before midnight, we're doing both. We have helped 20 families for a month, so let's take one final swing for 30 families, RM3000!

UPDATE (5.8.2020): GOAL INCREASED TO RM2000
At 12pm today, I raised the goal to RM1.5k with RM880. It’s only 5 hours later & we’ve hit RM1.5k. WE RAISED RM700 IN 5 HOURS. We can’t stop here. Not yet! I have SO MUCH HOPE that we can go bigger. Do more. Feed the whole low-cost government flat. Let’s keep going.

UPDATE (5.8.2020): GOAL INCREASED TO RM1500
We're at close to RM900 at ONLY 24 hours into the fundraiser! With 2 months until the main fundraiser ends, I've upped it to add 5 more grocery packs. If we hit this goal of RM1500, we'll be putting food on the table for 15 families for a month! Susah? Mungkin. But not impossible. Let's go!

UPDATE (4.8.2020): GOAL INCREASED TO RM1000
We hit 92% of the original RM500 goal in THREE HOURS! With RM500, 5 families will be securely fed for one month. Let's go for 5 more families! RM1000 will provide grocery packs to 10 families. Jom!

Was the MCO difficult for you? Same. 

For Malaysia's urban poor, it was worse. Loss of small businesses, means of income, accessibility to healthcare and basic needs- not the best situation. Even small things like having to wear face masks in public may be difficult for a family that needs to buy masks for their big families.

By raising RM3000 for Great Vision's Shopping Buddy campaign, we will be able to give 30 families grocery packs worth RM100 each- enough for each family for a month! To do this, I will be writing short stories, prose & poems in exchange for donations.

Any amount is welcome, but if you start at RM10, that's already 10% of a grocery pack!
