#WeStandWithYou: A collective effort to help the differently abled

During my years of Social Service as a member of the Interact movement and as a Council Member of the Interact District 3220, I’ve had the opportunity to see many things, and while good causes are always welcome, in my personal experience, a sector that I see very little focus within has to be the empowerment of the Differently Abled. Having had opportunities in the past to hear their perspectives in life and their dreams for the future, it has become apparent that what they desire the most is a future where they feel just as inclusive as anybody else, and also for a future where enough facilities exist to let differently abled individuals become independent and function within society with ease. Get Fit Get Inclusive is a cause that speaks to my beliefs and I want to do whatever I can to make sure it’ll succeed. I hope that you all will also help us pave the way for a better future for everybody, regardless of their ability or disability.

A fun fact about me is whenever I think of the disabled, it reminds me to be grateful for myself. In recent years, the competitive job market has led to higher unemployment rates among the fresh-grad, and this situation is even more challenging for the disabled during this Covid-19 pandemic.

I'm really worried, how can they survive without any help? Through this Get Fit Get Inclusive project organised by AIESEC, I realise there are many who need our support. We didn’t see the things doesn't mean they’re not happening around us. So, please show your kindness. Even a little support means a lot to the disabled!

Growing up, I've always dreamt of wanting to help people as much as I can and I finally had the chance when I entered university. However, since the pandemic had hit the entire world, the opportunities to help people became limited, which leads me to think of how I can continue helping people? And that is how I joined the Get Fit Get Inclusive Project conducted by AIESEC which helps the disabled community. 

The whole world is currently facing bad times as the economy is just starting to slowly rise up again. Due to this, many people were affected, especially the disabled community that's harder to be employed. So, I am truly grateful if I can be playing a part in improving the disabled community lives but a little goes a long way. So, I hope with the help of everyone donating for this cause, we can make the dream of others a reality!
