Hi, I'm Rameeza. I’m currently studying Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). I have been joining AIESEC for a year, and throughout the year, AIESEC in UMP has developed 2 main projects which are Speak Up and Clean Our Plate to contribute to quality education and sustainable consumption and production in Malaysia. These two projects mainly help primary school students to become aware of the importance of communication and zero food waste.

Speak Up is a project that helps students build confidence in the English language. Less chances of English speaking amongst students pose both a challenge in the processing and comprehension of knowledge and their search for a future position. Speak Up project allows students and international volunteers to communicate directly and improve their communication skills through a series of workshops and consistent interactions. The funds raised would be used to deliver the project along with the volunteers recruited.

Throughout the project conducted, students demonstrated their confidence in day-to-day communication and stay connected to the volunteers. The feedback from the teachers has shown a positive effect on students who are more involved in learning with the volunteers. From the total number of students participating in Speak Up from 13 January 2020 to 25 February 2020, the highest improvement of the student based on workshop rubric is 88%.  Therefore, we strive to build their confidence in English communication further because English is a common language used globally.
