Clean Our Plate campaign

The Story

Hi! I've been in involving myself with NGO work since July '19 starting with Global Peace Foundation Malaysia under their PPR playtime 'Jom Kita Main'  program where we create educational events for children under the age of 12. I'm also under the Yayasan Generasi Gemilang KidzRead program where we tutor English reading to students in the B40 community.

I'm drawn to initiatives in helping to educate the mass (mainly youths) on (1) #3 UN SDG Quality Education (2) UN SDG #12 responsible consumption and production. 

Households are the main contributor to food wastage in Malaysia. Our food waste occupies most of the landfill hence this campaign is aimed to change attitudes and initiate easy actions of youth towards reducing preventable food waste and fully utilizing food waste for them to influence their peers and their households.

This Clean Our Plate campaign essentially spearheads towards the 12th United Nations Standard development Goals, responsible for consumption and production. We engaged with the youth community to create awareness on SDG 12 where we have done (1) responsible consumption & production school outreaches in Hulu Langat (2) created workshops for participants in schools (2) promoted the reduction of food waste in schools.
