The Story

Hello everyone, welcome to 'Small Action, Big Change' campaign!

I'm JiaYuan, current 2nd Year Chemical Engineering Student in UTM Skudai, Johor. I am a person who likes hiking, traveling and snorkeling!!

Back in September 2019, I joined AIESEC in Johor Bahru as an Organizing Committee of Clean Our Plate Project. Same with many other people around me, I care more about other environmental issues (eg: water pollution, plastic pollution, etc.) rather than food waste issues. I am a person who never aware of the seriousness of food waste issues in our country. However, changes happened after I joined this project.

After I joined Clean Our Plate Project, I found that many people around us are wasting our food while some of the people can't even buy their food. During the project, I got a chance to distribute food to homeless people. It made me reflected on my own habit of wasting food. Besides that, I get to know different ways to tackle food waste from other learning partners in this project. I learned a lot from them and started to change my own habit in daily life.

To help more people who are in need and increase people's awareness of food waste issues, Clean Our Plate Project will continue to bring more impacts to the people around us!
