The Story

Hi, I'm Zafran from AIESEC Johor Bahru. I have joined AIESEC since February 2020. At the very first stage, I'm not even care about food wastage as for me it was nothing to aware of because later on all of them will go to dumpster. However, I have a habit where I hate foods in front of me being wasted with excuse of full. The food we eat was not coming for free and we pay as well as under people hardwork to put it on.

After joining AIESEC for a few months, I have realized this issue is not something we can take it willy-nilly. It's not because of our money and sweat, it is about our environment and giving food to less fortunate. I realized that AIESEC really committed in ensuring this Clean Our Plate project will achieve it targets in tackling the SDG 12 alignment to cultivate responsible consumption habits among the publics. Surplus food will be given to homeless who really need and what we do just waste the foods whenever we full. It is really instill the empathy value in me to always put myself in the homeless' shoes.

Here I want to call for people who feeling responsible in making this Clean Our Plate happen to contribute in this fundraising to help those in need. If not us, who else will do for them. Let's joining and holding our hands in making this real. Homeless' hopes in our palm, they deserve to eat too and live like other people !
