"Youth can't help in COVID-19?" No! Let's contribute what we have.

The Story

Hi family and friends!

I am Lua Yun Xin, and I am currently raising fund for the Malaysia underserved community during COVID-19. I always thought that probably the only way I can help in COVID-19 is by staying at home. However, thanks to the NGOhub and SERUM crowdfunding workshop, I found a new way to contribute my power to a cause I care. I think I will crowdfund more in the future.

Since MCO, my university has stopped, and many of your schools have stopped too. We switched to online classes and distanced ourselves. We checked the new cases every day and tried to maintain our life as usual. Living in comfort, I ignore that I have lived a better life than many of the underserved communities. They are starving and in danger. They don’t have money to buy the hand sanitiser and face mask to protect themselves and one another. They are calling for help.

I wish I could help them, but what can I do?

Buying mask and hand sanitiser for them? I don’t have the money to buy bulks of them.

Distributing food and groceries to the hungry person? Sorry, but I am not willing to risk my health to have contact with strangers.

However, all of my selfishness and limitations couldn’t stop me here because I now have the platform to raise fund for an NGO, called SERUM. For every RM10 raised, SERUM can purchase 5 masks and a hand sanitiser for the communities in need. But, SERUM and I couldn’t do this without your help.

Now, my family, friends, and the people around me, I am asking you to join me, to help the underserved community with what we have. LET'S DO IT!
