I am Michelle form Incoming Global Volunteer, AIESEC in HELP University. I joined the team
in February 2020. 1 month later, there’re 3 more people joined us and become a team of 6
people. 6 of us have been working on a same thing, a volunteering project. Despite the
challenges, the harsh environment and rapid changes, we never gave up on this project, because
we believe that it can bring impact for the people who needs it.
Our project focuses on SDG 4, quality education. We hope to build Malaysian high school
students’ confidence in speaking English, especially students in rural areas who have less
opportunity to speak in English. This is quite relevant for me as I was not good in speaking
English when I first came to university. It makes me feel unconfident and lose a few chances to
voice out my opinions. Besides, we hope to provide them hands on and cross subjects learning
based on STEM. During my primary and secondary school time, I like hands on learning so
much as it is one of the effective ways for me to learn; so, I hope to bring this method to the
students now to raise their interest on learning.
We hope everyone who see this would join our action in creating impact among Malaysian
students. You might not see a big impact for this project, we believe there’s always a student
who would become better because of what we have done. Thank you!
