SPICES

Education

SPICES is an acronym for Support for Parents, Infants and Children through Early Services. It began as a community outreach project of Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in 1997 by providing early intervention services to parents and their children with developmental delays. In 2010, SPICES was registered as a not-for-profit society, managed by a committee of volunteer members and run by a team of dedicated and trained staff. SPICES has expanded its services and now supports school going students with special needs right up to age 17 through the School and Teen Age Programmes. In addition, SPICES set up a Resource Centre in 2013 as an additional service to enhance existing programs. The centre is established to benefit parents, caregivers, teachers and service providers in the community. The resource center consists of a lending library of books, toys and equipment. It is also a center for training, resource development as well as a platform for networking, information sharing and parent support groups.
