PKIK stated operation in 1995 for children/ persons with learning disabilities and is registered as a Society in 1998. It is managed by a Committee of 11 voluntary elected/appointed members. MISSION To help this group with special needs in their overall development and help them towards a life as independent and meaningful as possible. FUNDING As an NGO, PKIK is dependent on its regular fundraising projects, donations and support from organisations, families, the public to help with its operation and upkeep. Currently it receives a small grant from the Welfare Department. All donations are tax-exempted. LONG TERM PLAN PKIK's long term plan is to construct our own building complex where our services can be housed under one roof. Presently we occupy 5 Shop lots in an conducive environment. LEND A HELPING HAND 1. Donate in cash/ in kind. 2. Be a volunteer to assist teachers in class, help in cafeteria , nursery planted with serai, vegetables and fruit trees, handicraft. 3. Be a buddy to a student. Help to run self-advocacy/ social club. 4. Organise projects and activities e.g. fundraising, outings, cleaning.
