Support for Kedai Jalanan UM for the initial collection of data was made possible through The Star-Gamuda Inspiration Award.
Pop-up street store run by volunteers, providing free basic necessities to the homeless & marginalize community around KL. Vowing to be more empathetic, a group of students from Universiti Malaya chose a pop-up free street store concept for their project to help the homeless and urban poor in Kuala Lumpur.
Kedai Jalanan was established since May 2015.
It started with a class project, supervised by Dr Rusaslina from Gender Studies Programme, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya.
After that, Dr Rusaslina decided to sustain this project and tried to recruit permanent volunteers or coordinators among UM students.

You can help by donating clothes, toiletries, towel, blanket, mat, shoes, bags etc and drop them at our drop box located in History Department, FASS UM (refer the poster in KJ FB page)
You can also be KJ volunteer by joining us every once in a month (3rd week of the month) in Jalan Panggong. You can also volunteer by helping us sorting out clothes weekly@monthly.
