THE PROBLEM
Issues like poverty and accessibility to hygiene kits for marginalized communities have remained as one of the pressing issues to look into currently, especially with the rising cost of prices. Hence, depriving these communities of necessary access and knowledge regarding personal hygiene.
THE SOLUTION
SWP FREHA will be having a Hygiene Kit initiative to give out Hygiene Kits throughout the 70th year to the marginalized communities in and around KL. With this campaign, we hope to raise support from members of the public to donate in cash in kind.
THE IMPACT
HOW WOULD YOUR CONTRIBUTION MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Help the community to realise the need to have good hygiene during their menses and will motivate them to continue practicing and maintaining personal hygiene whilst creating awareness and educating these communities. Moreover, this creates a sense of financial aid and encourages these communities to prioritise their personal hygiene and provide access for these communities.

We have initiated this project and have started to distribute the first of the hygiene kits to the communities. However, we are still in need of more donations to continue our #hygienekitinitiative. AIM As many people lack financial access to proper menstruation materials, it is important to provide and educate women and girls about menstrual hygiene, the sanitary packages have given them the opportunity to have a clean and safe period. Thanks to you, we are able to make a difference in someone’s life. By donating, not only have you given women the power to control the story of their health, but you have also given them the first step in controlling the story of their lives. This empowerment is invaluable. Our aim is to donate 500 Hygiene kits or more. (This helps us to start off our distributions to the marginalised communities Period Poverty We humbly depend on the society to make a women’s basic need a priority, as period poverty is still a major issue in Malaysia, according to “Malaysia Now” and the Health minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa stating “The health ministry to propose free sanitary pads in a bid to address the issue of period poverty in this country” this however is an attempt at a proposal to be implemented in 2023 to make it an inclusion factor for those women in need. Having said that FREHA, at its upmost is aiming to reduce the prevalence of period poverty by this project #hygienekitinitiative.
