Support A Refugee Family Programme

The Story

SAHABAT Support-A-Family (SaF) programme is an initiative under Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI) where it functions as a supplementary support for the refugee families registered under the organization. MSRI provide services for the refugee families in terms of medical and livelihood support. However, lack of funding due to the overwhelming volume of refugee families (MSRI serves around 2000+ family, which comprises of 6000+ individuals restricted some famili from receiving more support). These families either have dire medical needs, very low income, and/or unable to work due to certain physical or mental disabilities.

In such cases, private donations through SaF programme will be utilized to help these families. The families that have been shortlisted to receive private donation under the SaF programme was done through tedious process of house visits and revision of their cases. The families shortlisted for this programme are usually with the aforementioned issues stated above.
