Teach Adults from Pulau Pinang how to read and write

THE PROBLEM

Tamarai focuses on education to empower the youth and less privileged people. We are based in Pulau Pinang and help people from a poverty background, high-risk surrounds and ex-prisoners from Pulau Pinang, Kedah and Perak.

Tamarai wants to empower people who struggle without basics skills to survive. We found out that many of our youth can’t read or write properly. We want to help them, so they can have more opportunities in life. Language is like oxygen, it can’t be seen but we need it all the time.

THE SOLUTION

We’ve got the perfect place to provide language classes, and now we need your help to buy the material and pay the teachers. 

PEOPLE’S SKILLS is a project to empower the community; to give them tools so they can build a better future for themselves and everybody around them.

THE IMPACT

How do we help?

We want to tell you the story of Jegathish, from Kepala Batas, a rural area in Pulau Pinang. We sent him to study at IKBN – Government College of Engineering last year but sadly he struggled a lot because his knowledge in other language was very poor and he failed few examinations. TAMARAI was informed about this and came up with a free intensive class on language and some others skills such as basic computer skills and English classes.

Jegathish improved and passed all of his examinations with Malaysian Automotive Institute. Now, we are happy to say that Jegathish is working as Assistant Technician at PERODUA MALAYSIA.
